The Fisher Droid

Do Androids brag about the one that got away?

Air
The Idea:
Designing Andriods is both a challenge as also fun. For not only does one have to make them believable, but also impart a personality to them which is unique to each Android. The idea to do this robot came to me fro RK Laxman's "Common Man". I wanted to create a Robot who could be placed in various predicaments and him acting as a mute witness to the unfoldin events.

Inspiration:
RK Laxman's Common Man, Philip K Dick's "Do Androids dream of electric sheep?", Jhonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels.

The Story:
Do androids dream about Electric sheep and brag about the one that got away? a.k.a. Lessons in Fishing: To catch a fish, give it what it wants, not what you think it wants!
The Droid, out the catch the Big one, is under the impression that fishes, like him, are metallic beings which will fall for any nut hung before them. So while he (am not sure if droids will be differentiated on the basis of sex, but have decided to let 'him' be a male indulging in an essentially male activity) sits patiently dreaming about the huge one he's going to catch, the fishes themselves blow air bubbles of "?" marks, wondering why anyone would want to hang a shiny nut on a line?

Execution:
Modelled and rendered completely in Bryce (including Android, clouds, droid Trout et. al) except for the Trouts, Fishing Rod and vest which I downloaded . Final touches in Photoshop.
  Beam me up Scotty!
