The
Idea:
This was an image, which had been swimming
in my mind for years.
The concept was: what if there was another
Trojan horse? In this day and age, (or possibly
somewhere in the future, in a civilisation
removed from us) how different would it
be from its mythical alter ego? |

Inspiration:
Greek Mythology, The Innovation that was
the Trojan Horse. |

The
Story:
Much like its mythical predecessor, the
present Trojan horse was supposed to look
more like a work of art as against a war
machine. But unlike its mythical counter
part the present Trojan Horse is steeped
with gadgets and gizmos which would do any
self respecting James Bond proud. |

Execution:
The image is 97.5% Bryce and 2.5% Photoshop.
Modelled completely in Bryce. The Pyramidical
monolithic city of Neo-Troy is a collection
of Terrain objects.
The Horses and gyrocopters are made out
of Boolean operations. The turret of the
IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicle aka Armoured
Personnel Carriers (APC) for the uninitiated)
is made of Boolean objects, so are its levitating/hover
mechanisms.
The body of the IFV is a symmetrical lattice.
The infantry men are imports from Poser
and all their accoutrement is made of Boolean
objects, the gun stock being symmetrical
lattice.
For those who are technically minded,
this image is as seen through a nightvision
device. The specs of the Trojan horse are:
Each carries a complement of 4 IFVs (you
can see one coming out of the hind leg hanger)
capable of carrying 8 troopers + crew of
3) in their limb hanger and 2 gyro-gunships,
designed for close in urban warfare in its
belly Hangar. It has AWACs
type Radardome and ELINT
unit raised from its back. ECM
and communication is housed in the mane.
It has a bi-cannon gun turret in its mouth
unit. Feel free to add on to the Story!
Only thing missing is of course Helen (of
Troy)! :-P |
