It
was Carlos
Castaneda who coined the phrase "Magical
Passes". A series of moves and breathing
techniques, later to be called tensigrity,
which is to aid one in achieving the sorcerer's way
of life.
The magical passes I tried to depict, is
a pass, a window of opportunity which exists between
two passing moment, wherein one can slip in and precieve
the magic within the mundane.
Each moment wrought with potential, and in such a
magical pass, you slip through...on to a
glorious flight.
I first brought n the two travellers to denote the
passage of a year, and brought them in as the protagonists
of the illustration. In theirtravel they discover
the birth of a new year (Illustration below).
The theme had played on my mind and I wanted to explore
the travels of this par further as they pass through
time. So I brought them back in, in Magical Passes.
I hope to follow their explorations across timescape
and their encounters with various temporal phenomenons
