The Idea
Nobody (that Iknow of) has ever tried to do organic
modelling, and that too model a human being in
Bryce. This was a challenge I've been wanting
to take up for a long time. As I like putting
my models in a particular context, I thought putting
them in a gladiatorial arena would heighten the
challenge of doing the image. |

The Treatment
The challenge was in not just creating the human
models but also imparting disctinctive personality
and character to them. While borrowing from the
movie, I decided to create the two duelists with
a personal history of their own. While one was
a 'gentleman' fighter, who was both a dandy and
a swordsman of finesse, the other was a brutal,
Tyson like fighter, will depend on crushing blows
and swings to inflict fatal wounds. |

The
Execution
Once the personalities were arrived upon,
I designed out each of the individual armours
and weapons. While the 'dandy', being a fine swordsman,
would depend on tactics, skill and stamina, his
armour as also his weapons had to be light. The
'Tyson' depending on brute force, has armour which
projects his personality. As also his weapons
reflect his fighting capabilities.
100% Bryce. This image won me the May "The
Duel" challenge at Renderosity. |
