The Execution:
Used a pencil as the print element. To keep the pencil pressed a mechanism of spring and levers are there. A clockwork mechanism along with gears, levers and pistons manage the lift, swing and pressure of the pencil. The designs are fed into the machine through punch card like mechanisms which are similar to the workings of musical boxes.
