model : Butterfly Shuttle |

Air |
The Idea:
In the series of creating crafts inspired by insects,
this was a designed based on a butterfly. Much
as a butterfly flits from a flower to another,
decided to create a butterfly shuttle which flits
from a sky-city to anothere. |

The Inspiration:
Butterflies, Illustration of Rodney Matthew
The challenge was in utilising the various parts
of a butterfly and having corresponding utilisation
in the craft. |

Water
|
The treatment:
The difference between thsi craft and an actual
butterfly is, this craft also has a jet propulsion
unit to assist flight. Butterflies are generally
colourful creatures. Wanted to use the clours
in terms of functional purpose. Thus gold is used
for a non corrossive covering of certain critical
systems. The circular disc like object is a kind
of a levitating/anti grav devise which provide
added thrust. |
